About Dylan Ratigan



​For the past decade, Dylan Ratigan has been one of the nation's leading figures pushing for political reform and fixing our economy so it works for everyone.

At the height of the financial crisis in 2009, Ratigan resigned his position as a business journalist on CNBC. With a greater understanding of the importance of politics, he began a new career as a political reformer hosting a show on MSNBC. Dylan reported the often devastating results of quickly changing world battering a broken political system, creating a politics that was increasingly ineffective and even dangerous.

Advocating political reform at MSNBC, Ratigan continually expressed his frustration and founded getmoneyout.com, which in a few short months signed-up 250,000 activists. In the past seven years, they have pushed for political reform across established political divisions.

In 2016, Dylan worked to support securing ballot access for rank voting in Maine and is a founding board member at Business For Democracy, advocating campaign finance and election reform.

Ratigan also published the book, Greedy Bastards, explaining solutions on a range of social and economic issues, highlighting the great barrier of a broken politics to enacting any solutions.

Ratigan left journalism in 2012, focusing time and money to starting a business for creating more distributed, people-centered systems to bring power, water, food, and communications to communities around the planet.​

Dylan was born in Saranac Lake and graduated from Saranac Lake high school, in the heart of the New York's 21 Congressional District. After 10 years working for political reform and offering alternative solutions, Dylan decided to run for the seat to raise the voice of reform and deliver a simple message – We Can Fix This.
